Amsterdam - Stedelijk Museum's Night

Of the many events proposed by the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam (NL) for Museum Night, on 3 November 2012, two sound particularly interesting. Here they are:

  • Workshop Bathtub Curator

The new building, known as the Bathtub, is equipped with an expansive open-plan underground gallery. What would you do with this incredible 1,100-square-meter space? Curate your own exhibition of miniature Mondriaans, De Koonings, designer trash cans, or even peanut butter. The best idea wins a bag full of books.
Location: Studios A and B (down the stairs next to the museum shop)
Time: from 7 p.m. until 2 a.m.

  • Blikopener Speed Tour

Take a tour of the museum’s impressive collection with the Blikopeners—young Stedelijk staffers aged 15 to 19 years old. What are their favorites? And what are yours? Turn yourself into a specialist at full speed.
Location: assemble in Gallery 0.30 on the ground floor of the historic building
Time: tours begin every fifteen minutes, starting at 7.15 p.m.; last tour at 1.45 a.m.
