France - Cultural Heritage Programmes Discontinued

Cultural Heritage Minister Aurélie Filippetti annonced today that several programmes launched by the previous government will be discontinued, since they where based on insufficient research work and had not enough funds devoted to their development.

Among these are the Centre d’art pariétal in Lascaux, that would have costed about € 50 M, and would have been a full size replica of the caves - closed since 1963 in order to avoid further endangerment of the original paintings.
