Books - A Chinese Thriller

Just finished reading Qiu Xiaolong’s Red Mandarin Dress (2007). I love to read crime-thrillers, now and again, but this is a really special one.

Set in Shanghai in the ’90s, it features Chief Inspector Chen Cao and intermingles action, reflections on culture and history, and a lot of interesting details from both classic and modern Chinese literary sources.
